Ian Fraser has outstanding media, political, professional communications and management credentials. In 1990 he was awarded an OBE for public service.
Widely regarded as one of New Zealand’s pre-eminent current affairs television interviewers, his career spans political journalism, senior management and public relations. He was chairman of New Zealand’s largest public relations company, Consultus, from 1986 – 1990.
Ian represented New Zealand as Chief Executive and New Zealand Commissioner General of the New Zealand projects at Expo 88 in Brisbane and World Expo 92 in Seville, Spain. He was Chief Executive of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra 1998-2002 and Chief Executive of Television New Zealand from 2002 – 2005.
